North Thermo Logistics

Customer case  Maritech TMS

-Maritech TMS works brilliantly for us – it’s easy to use and helps streamline our operations.

That’s how Erlend Pekeberg, Managing Director of North Thermo Logistics (NTL), describes his experience. The logistics company, based in Oslo, specializes in temperature-controlled transport, with a particular focus on seafood and other perishable goods. They provide solutions across Norway and Europe by road, sea, and rail. With just four employees, NTL is still a relatively small player, but with a large network of partners across Europe. The company was founded in September 2024, though Pekeberg himself brings nearly three decades of experience in logistics.

“Throughout my almost 30 years in the logistics industry, I’ve worked extensively with temperature-controlled transport, food, and seafood – and have become well acquainted with Timpex TMS,” says Pekeberg.

“When we were selecting a TMS for NTL, it was therefore natural to include Maritech in the process. For us, it was essential that the system we chose offered solid integrations, scalability, and an intuitive, modern user interface. As a newly established company, we also needed a fast implementation process to get up and running quickly. Maritech delivered on all these points. Combined with our positive experience from Timpex, this made us confident that Maritech TMS Cloud was the right solution for NTL.”

A fast and seamless process

Once the choice of system provider was made, things moved quickly. In just over a month, the system was both implemented and live.

“Even though the process went very fast, it was completely seamless. We received all the support we needed along the way – through weekly project meetings, close dialogue via chat, and a competent project team from Maritech, with Dag and Heidi at the forefront, enduring everything ran smoothly and issues were resolved quickly,” says Pekeberg.

“I would absolutely recommend other transport companies to switch to Maritech TMS Cloud.”

A TMS built for the future

The result is a transport management system that lives up to the expectations.

“Maritech TMS is easy to use, with a clear and self-explanatory user interface that makes it straightforward to work in. Operating in a cloud-based system also brings major advantages in terms of updates and support – it’s simply much more accessible.”

Pekeberg highlights specific functionalities that work particularly well for NTL:

“It’s very easy to register incomplete assignments in the system and finalize them later once we have all the information. This saves us a lot of time and helps us work more efficiently. We also greatly appreciate the EDI and invoicing integrations, which simplify our operations even further.”

Strong and dedicated collaboration

The project has also been a success from Maritech’s side.

“Maritech and Erlend had productive discussions, working together to ensure the best solution was in place for North Thermo Logistics ahead of their launch,” says Oddvar Talset, VP Sales at Maritech.

“It’s been a pleasure working with a customer who’s so skilled with systems and clear about the direction he wanted to take. We’ve been impressed by his dedication and drive, both during the project and after going live. It’s very rewarding to see that NTL has been so well received in the market, and we’re thrilled to share in their success.”

Great potential in seafood logistics

With seafood and other temperature-controlled goods as their main focus, Pekeberg sees exciting opportunities ahead.

“Transport of fish and seafood represents a significant part of our volume, and I see great potential for further system integrations in the future. Maritech is the leading provider of cloud-based software for the seafood industry, and we envision a future where seafood producers and transporters can be connected in the cloud – enabling us to offer even better solutions for our customers,” Pekeberg concludes.
