“We aim to be at the forefront of everything. Therefore, it has been entirely natural for us to choose cloud solutions from Maritech,” says Odd Frode Roaldsnes, CCO at Salmon Evolution.

Since the fall of 2022, they have been using Maritech Purchase & Sales for all processes related to sales, tracking, and export of salmon. Recently, they have also played a key role in the development of the new solution Maritech Packing Monitor, which enables them to always have access to real-time data and reports from the external packing plant with which they closely collaborate.

 

Live in less than two months

Supply Chain Manager Marius Østgaard and Sales Coordinator Michelle Wiig Vartdal led the internal work on the Purchase & Sales implementation in the fall of 2022, and they say it was a smooth process.

“Getting started went well,” Wiig Vartdal says. “We received very good help and were live in under 2 months. Our team at Maritech were on the ball all the time, and we had all systems in place before the first harvest. It was also an advantage to be a newly started company, without having to convert large amounts of data to the new system; we could start with a clean slate and lay a solid foundation for the growth to come in the years ahead.”

Simple, modern, easy to navigate

“I’ve used the old Maritech system, Maritech Trading before, in a previous job. This is much simpler, it’s modern, easy to navigate. It’s ideal to be able to create templates and drag and drop; you can solve what you need to do in an intuitive way. We see that we become even more efficient the more we automate. The better you become in the system, the more time you save,” says Michelle.

“We see great opportunities ahead with Maritech,” says Odd Frode Roaldsnes.

“One example is the latest project we have collaborated on, the Packing Monitor solution, which enables us to have full visibility of the status of all orders and produce export documents as soon as the terminal at factory gives their clearance. By being online with the production and packing plant, we can actively manage production, optimize, and prioritize orders, ensuring that customers receive what they have ordered.”

Very satisfied

“Another area is data capture, reporting, tracking, and analysis,” he continues.

“We are a data-driven company. From day one, we have been focused on collecting and processing large amounts of data to facilitate continuous learning and improvement. We are now working, among other things, on implementing some special reports in Maritech Analytics, to obtain the best possible decision-making basis for optimizing processes in production. The slaughter reports are, in a way, the answer key after the production cycle, and it is important for us to use the insights we gain to continue delivering high-quality products to our customers.

“Land-based salmon production is high-tech, and production and sales are interconnected; we also aim to be a modern sales organization – for that, you need the right systems. And once they are in place, they must be fully utilized. We make sure all our data goes into Maritech Purchase & Sales, which has become much more than a sales tool. It makes it easy for other departments in the group to stay updated on delivery status, quality, customers, prices, receivables, and so on, without having to ask the sales department for reports. In terms of tracking, mass balance, and certifications such as Global Gap and ASC, Maritech Purchase & Sales has proven to be a very useful tool.”
