Maritech buys software company Timpex
Maritech and Timpex combine their expertise and become one of the biggest actors within the software industry in Central Norway. The group will consist of over 100 employees with a shared annual turnover of over 130 million NOK.
Maritech and Timpex have entered into a purchase agreement. Timpex will be merged with Maritech.
Over the past year, the two software providers have worked together to digitalize the document exchange between exporters, transporters, and customs agents, delivering a portal that gives actors in the seafood industry a full logistics overview. They will now be merged into one company that will represent a big and considerable IT-community. The company will have over 45 software developers, divided between Molde, Åndalsnes, Trondheim, and Averøy in Norway, Halifax, NS in Canada, and an outsourced team in Macedonia.
A natural fit in solving logistics challenges for our customers
We deliver software solutions tailored for seafood from sea to table. Our strategy is to support operational processes and offer solutions that embrace the entire value chain. Logistics is a major challenge for the seafood industry. Logistics and transportation account for the largest costs apart from the merchandise itself. Through this acquisition, we will gain greater expertise and can contribute to solving these challenges for our customers.CEO in Maritech, Janne T. Morstøl.
An attractive employer
Timpex delivers software solutions for businesses that operate within logistics, transportation and customs. Their clientele consists of some of the most complex logistics companies in Norway and the company has made a considerable mark within the transportation and logistics industry. Timpex will continue to work with their current clients, while also looking forward to assisting in further developing transportation and logistics solutions in the seafood industry
For Timpex, this means that we will grow a development environment which allows for faster implementation of new technology, such as data analysis and machine learning. We will gain access to new customers and an international market. This merger with Maritech is highly attractive in order to further develop the market position for both companies within seafood and logistics. By combining forces, a joint company will have strengthened resources and management in initiating the development of new solutions and will be seen as a highly attractive employer for future employees. We look forward to becoming a part of Maritech’s innovative and progressive team.Timpex AS CEO, Frank Amundsen
